In March of 2018 I saw a demonstration of Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer and decided I must have one. They had just brought out the new Model 3 S and it would become available as a kit. I placed my order in late March and it arrived on 6th June.
Here is the pictorial story of the build sequence, taken in my workshop.
PRUSA MK3-S 3D PRINTER
The parcel arrived wrapped in black ‘cling film’. With the film peeled off it revealed the box containing the kit.
Once the kit box was opened it was time to sort out the contents.
To follow the build sequence please click on one of the buttons below. There is a ‘Back’ button at the bottom of each page.
As you can see in the picture above there is, included a bag of Haribo Gummy Bears. At the end of each of the build chapters you are encouraged to reward yourself with a Gummy Bear or two!
This has been a most enjoyable build for me. The documentation is absolutely perfect and leads you through the process perfectly. All the separate bags contained exactly the right number of components (there is a bag of spares should you lose any) and ALL the required tools are included in the package.
Well done to Josef Prusa for creating such a wonderfully well specified and beautifully made kit that is the Original Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer kit.
I note that it took me 7 hours to build the item. The Self-Test passed first time with no problems. I have now done the finer X/Y/Z calibrations and printed my first items from the samples included on the supplied SD Card. (Anyone want any 3D printed Tree Frogs?)
